Retired from business ownership in structural engineering, commercial real estate, and construction management.
Marine Corps helicopter pilot, Vietnam veteran, with fixed wing and helicopter commercial pilot’s license, including three type ratings and instrument ratings.
Avid motorcyclist, sailor, hunter, retriever trainer, and sailing instructor. Enjoy international travel with my wonderful wife.

I've called Whidbey Island home since 1979.
I'm interested in improving access to health care for Whidbey veterans since retiring from the Seattle VA as a Mental Health Nurse.
Jan-Marc Jouas
Board Member
Jan-Marc Jouas is an Air Force veteran who served over 35 years on active duty. He moved to Whidbey Island in 2015 and joined the board of the Whidbey Veterans Resource Center in 2022.
Marty Bridges
Board Member
Marty Bridges is a Vietnam Era Air Force Veteran and served as a B52 Gunner. He attended Southern Illinois University on the GI Bill and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the School of Technical Careers.
He spent forty years as a pilot flying professionally with the last 25 years at Southwest Airlines. While at Southwest Airlines he served his pilot group both on the Aeromedical Committee and the Critical Response team. he received training in Critical Incident Stress Management and also
several professional conferences on substance abuse and recovery.
Marty moved to Whidbey Island in 2022 and joined the WVRC Board in 2023.
Claudia Bridges
Board Member
Claudia serves on the WVRC board as a member and assists with fundraising and grants. Claudia's earlier career included 10 years of academia as a Marketing Professor, After retiring and relocating to Boulder City NV.
Claudia volunteered for eight years as a grant coordinator/administrator for a non-profit focusing on emergency aid and food for members of the community. Claudia served four years there in public service as a member of the Boulder City City Council and various Clark County commissions.
Claudia brings her strengths in marketing, non-profit functions, civic engagement and grants which serve to assist the non-profit community, specifically the Whidbey Veterans Resource Center.
